August Auditions for MYSP's 60th Anniversary Season
The Memphis Youth Symphony Program will hold an additional round of auditions on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Rhodes College for students interested in joining our 2026-2027 60th Anniversary Season.

Current Ensemble Openings
Audition openings vary by ensemble and instrument based on the results of our May auditions.
Prelude Strings (PS)
Openings available for violin, viola, cello, and bass.
Intermezzo Orchestra (IO)
Openings available for violin, viola, and bass. The cello section is currently full.
String Orchestra (SO)
Openings available for violin, viola, cello, and bass.
Concert Band (CB)
Openings available for all Concert Band instruments.
Repertory Orchestra (RO)
The flute, clarinet, trumpet, and tuba sections are currently full. Openings remain for all strings, oboe, bassoon, horn, and trombone.
Youth Symphony (YS)
The flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and percussion sections are currently full. Openings remain for all strings, oboe, bassoon, and horn.
Ensemble placement is determined by audition and is based on each student's current playing level and available space.
Don't See Your Instrument Listed?
We still encourage you to audition!
Ensemble openings can change throughout the summer, and additional positions may become available before the season begins. Auditioning allows MYSP to consider you for any openings that arise, as well as placement in another ensemble that is appropriate for your current playing level.
Can't Attend on August 8?
Students who are unable to attend the in-person audition may submit a recorded video audition for an available position.
Recorded Audition Deadline: Thursday, August 6, 2026
Audition Fee
The audition fee is $25 and may be paid online or by check at your audition.
Please note that students will not be assigned an in-person audition time, and recorded auditions will not be shared with judges for review, until the audition fee has been received. You can pay the audition fee here.
